Donna Lynn Murray recently decided she was ready to close a chapter in her life.
Local coffee shop and restaurant Rocky Mountain Mojoe (RMM) shut its doors December 8, 2018.
Murray, the owner of RMM, decided at the the end of last summer she was ready for a change after seven years of running the restaurant. “I decided by the end of summer I wanted to retire; I was worn out,” she stated. She told her son, if he wanted to run the coffee shop after he graduated from University of Wyoming he could, but as she explained, “this wasn’t really his passion or what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, so that’s when we decided we would just close this chapter.”
Murray said owning RMM has changed her life for the better, even through the most stressful points. Summers were always the hardest but also the most fun. People would keep coming back year after year as if they were regulars. “During the summer there were a lot of tourists that came from different parts of the world,” commented employee Ashley Johnston.
They decided to open RMM in October of 2011. Her husband had a moving job and Murray mentioned, “we wanted to be able to stay in Cody, because we loved the area so much.”
Murray and her family are grateful for their Cody patrons over the past seven years. They hope the building will bring as much joy to another family as it did for them.
