Webster’s Dictionary defines “valedictorian” as: the student usually having the highest rank in a graduating class who delivers the Valedictory Address at the Commencement Exercises. In lamest terms, the Valedictorian is the smartest person in the entire class.
The CHS Valedictorian for the class of 2018 is Kirsten Hull, and many students and staff of CHS couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this prestigious title.
“She [Hull] is the smartest and most deserving student for the title, and is one of the greatest writers I have ever taught,” said English teacher Elizabeth Hansen.
Hull’s hard work and dedication over the past four years propelled her to the top of the class of 2018 with a 5.0 GPA and an ACT score of 33.
“I have no clue [how I became Valedictorian]. I didn’t spend high school trying to be valedictorian,” Hull said.
After High School, Hull will be studying Psychology at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where she has been awarded a full scholarship.
“I love the campus. It’s beautiful,” said Hull.
The graduation ceremony starts Saturday at two o’clock in the afternoon, so come to Schweitzer Gymnasium to watch Kirsten speak and to support the Class of 2018.
