Singing Valentines are Back

Valentine’s Day is a time of love and appreciation. For those not in relationships, it’s a time to celebrate friendship. Some buy flowers or cards or gifts for loved ones. However, CHS has an unusual Valentine’s Day tradition.

CHS SYNERGY has been doing the Singing Valentines for ten years,

“The one thing that cannot be bought at the store is live music,” choir director, Larry Munari said.

Singing Valentines are personally delivered valentines. Members of the SYNERGY choir deliver the tokens of love by visiting classrooms and singing songs to the lucky person who receives the gift. The price for an on-campus valentine is $5 and $10 for an off-campus delivery.

The money made from the valentines goes to the cost of the choir program’s uniforms and for future traveling.

“[Singing Valentines is an opportunity to sing and combine those skills with fundraising,” said Munari. The members of SYNERGY are doing the fundraiser while making improvements in their public performing.

This years favorite songs that SYNERGY is performing are, jazz classic “All of Me” and “Till There Was You” from the movie The Music Man.

All Singing Valentines orders must be in by Tuesday Feb. 13 at lunchtime.

“Seeing the smiles on the faces of all the other students in the classrooms when the valentines are being delivered is my favorite part of the Singing Valentines,” said Munari.
